Manufacturer’s warranty for new Hyundai vehicles

1. Manufacturer’s warranty for new Hyundai vehicles:
Any part of a Hyundai vehicle other than the individual components listed in items 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 shall be replaced or repaired free of charge by any authorized Hyundai Dealer during the warranty period should any defects in material or workmanship that occurred before the Hyundai vehicle was sold (transferred) by an authorized Hyundai Dealer to the first buyer be detected, provided that timely maintenance is performed.
The right to decide whether warranty repair (repair or replacement) is necessary and how it should be carried out is reserved exclusively by the authorized Hyundai Dealer.
Spare parts and materials replaced during warranty repair shall be the property of the manufacturer. The authorized Hyundai Dealer has the right to dispose of these parts and materials in the interest of the manufacturer.

1.1. Warranty period for a new Hyundai vehicle:

The warranty period for new Hyundai vehicles, with the exception of certain parts listed in item 1.2, is five (5) years or one hundred thousand (100,000) km (whichever comes first) from the date of sale (transfer) of the Hyundai vehicle by an authorized Hyundai Dealer to the first buyer, as evidenced by a corresponding note on the starting date of the warranty period in the service book.
The owner may make warranty claims only for material or workmanship defects and only during the warranty period established in the service book.
The service life of the Vehicle is six (6) years or one hundred eighty thousand (180,000) km (whichever comes first) from the moment the Vehicle is transferred by the Hyundai Official Dealer to the first end-customer. After the service life of the Car has expired, its further exploitation is possible provided that the owner complies with the requirements of regular maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the service book, as well as other requirements for the operation of the Car indicated in the service book and the Instruction Manual.

1.2. Warranty on individual components:
Warranty on individual Hyundai components listed below starts from the date of sale (transfer) of the vehicle to the first buyer (i.e., from the starting date of the warranty period as indicated in the service book) within the following limits:

1.2.1. Twelve (12) months or twenty thousand (20,000) km (whichever comes first):

  • brake discs and drums;
  • gas-discharge lamps;
  • battery;
  • refilling coolant in the air conditioning system;
  • drive belts;
  • gaskets of various types (except cylinder head gaskets);
  • front and rear suspension stabilizer bushings.

1.2.2. Thirty-six (36) months or one hundred thousand (100,000) km (whichever comes first):

  • audio equipment installed by the manufacturer.

1.3. What is not covered?
Manufacturer’s warranty is limited to manufacturing defects only and does not cover the following cases:

1.3.1. Routine maintenance, diagnostics and adjustment works, destruction of disposable elements and consumption of other materials during routine maintenance.

1.3.2. Normal wear and tear on any parts, natural aging and deterioration of coating, paintwork, rubber parts, upholstery and trim resulting from normal use and exposure to the environment, including acid rain, corrosives from the atmosphere, industrial pollution, chemicals, plant sap, rocks, salt, as well as hail, hurricanes, lightning, floods, and other natural phenomena.

1.3.3. Minor abnormalities that do not affect the quality, performance or operability of the vehicle or its components (e.g., minor noise, squeaking or vibration that accompanies the normal operation of the vehicle units and systems).

1.3.4. Slight oozing (not affecting the normal flow) of oil, service fluids or grease through gaskets and seals.

1.3.5. Flaws in trim elements, paint and plating imperceptible without special means.

1.3.6. Minor presence of bright or dark spots (no more than three (3)) on displays installed in Hyundai vehicles by or under the control of the manufacturer.

1.3.7. Damage and/or malfunction resulting from incomplete or inadequate maintenance, such as failure to carry out daily and/or periodic inspections, and/or maintenance specified in the owner’s manual; significant excessive mileage between scheduled vehicle maintenance visits (more than one hundred (1,000) km or one (1) month, whichever comes first).

1.3.8. Damage and/or malfunction resulting from the use of a non-genuine part, device or equipment not approved by the manufacturer, or repair, maintenance or any other work performed by a service center other than an authorized Hyundai Dealer.

1.3.9. Damage to the vehicle as a result of an accident, negligence, misuse, improper use of vehicle equipment, improper driving, use of the vehicle in racing or rallies, as a (including but not limited to) taxi, training vehicle, etc., as well as modification (making changes in the design of the vehicle, installation of additional equipment, tampering of the vehicle owner or third parties with the operation of assemblies and aggregates) of the vehicle or its parts.

1.3.10. Damage to the vehicle, including its cargo compartment and/or interior, as a result of loading, unloading or transportation of cargo.

1.3.11. Costs associated with the inability to use a defective vehicle, loss of time, fuel costs, telephone costs, transportation costs, loss of revenue and other commercial losses.

1.3.12. Elimination of any malfunctions in a vehicle with altered odometer readings, as well as all possible damages related to such malfunctions.

1.3.13. Malfunctions and consequential damages resulting from the untimely elimination of other malfunctions after they have been detected.

1.3.14. Consumables and lubricants, other elements used or subject to wear and tear during normal operation:

  • filters of all types;
  • spark plugs;
  • clutch-driven disc;
  • brake pads;
  • wiper blades;
  • fuses;
  • incandescent bulbs;
  • oils, fluids, and lubricants for all vehicle systems;
  • fuel.

1.3.15. Losses resulting from failure of parts listed in item 1.3.14 or parts the warranty period for which has expired due to established limitations.

1.3.16. Slight variation in the shade of the body paint caused by the optical effects of different lighting, vision, or other factors.

1.3.17. Defects in the vehicle or its individual components caused by the environment (including, but not limited to): industrial, construction and chemical emissions, acid or alkaline air pollution, acid rain, plant sap, bird and animal products, de-icing agents, pavement (rocks, sand, salt, etc.).

1.3.18. Damage to the vehicle caused by force majeure events (including, but not limited to): fires, disasters, natural disasters, lightning, floods, earthquakes.

1.3.19. Defects in paint or other decorative coating of parts that are not body parts (rails, silencers, wiper blades, door handles, decorative body trim, etc.).

1.3.20. Abrasion of the paint coating on the contact surfaces of interacting parts that occurs during normal vehicle operation.

1.3.21. Defects, damages resulting from the vehicle owner’s failure to comply with the terms of the owner’s manual, and/or failure to perform scheduled vehicle maintenance, and/or independent disassembly or repair of units and components of the vehicle, and/or overloading beyond the specified vehicle weight rating or misuse of the vehicle, and/or use of fuel and lubricants (gasoline, diesel fuel, oils) of poor quality.

1.3.22. Corrosion of suspension, transmission, engine, and exhaust system components.

1.4. Warranty on third-party accessories:
Some Hyundai components are covered by warranty from their suppliers on their terms and conditions. In particular, such components include:

  • tires originally installed on the vehicle by the manufacturer;
  • multimedia and navigation systems installed under the control of the manufacturer.

2. Paint warranty:
The paint warranty provides for free repair of painted surfaces by any authorized Hyundai Dealer if a defect in paint or technology of its application is detected, and only if the causes of these defects are of industrial nature.
The right to decide whether and how to perform warranty repairs rests solely with the authorized Hyundai Dealer who will perform the repair.

2.1. Warranty period:
The warranty period for paintwork on new Hyundai vehicles is five (5) years or one hundred thousand (100,000) km (whichever comes first), beginning from the starting date of the warranty period indicated in the service book.
The owner may file claims to the paint quality only during the warranty period.

3. Warranty on spare parts:
Apart from the warranty on a new Hyundai vehicle, the manufacturer provides warranty on genuine parts and accessories.
Warranty on spare parts is provided if they are purchased from and installed by an authorized Hyundai Dealer.
You can claim the performance of warranty obligations from the authorized Hyundai Dealer that sold and installed the corresponding part by presenting documents proving that the part was purchased and installed by that Hyundai Dealer.

3.1. Warranty period:
The warranty period for genuine Hyundai spare parts, except for certain components, is one (1) year or twenty thousand (20,000) km (whichever comes first) from the date of installation of the spare part on the vehicle.
Parts repaired or replaced under warranty are covered by warranty only during the warranty period of the vehicle or until the end of the warranty period for individual components, whichever comes first.

3.2. What is not covered by the spare part warranty?
Manufacturer’s warranty for spare parts is limited only to manufacturing defects which occurred before the part was installed on the vehicle, considering the limitations specified in item 1.3.

4. Vehicle delivery to the place of repair:
Manufacturer’s warranty covers vehicle delivery (towing) to the nearest authorized Hyundai Dealer in the case of malfunction falling under the Hyundai car warranty only if the nature of this malfunction does not allow driving the vehicle to the place of repair due to the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the owner’s manual. Consult your nearest authorized Hyundai Dealer for details on whether or not a tow vehicle is required. You can find the address and phone number of the nearest authorized Hyundai Dealer in the service book or by calling Hyundai Customer Service (8-800-070-70-70). If the vehicle is delivered by the owner subject to the conditions of this item, it is the responsibility of the authorized Hyundai Dealer that will provide the warranty repair service to compensate the owner for the documented cost of towing the vehicle in the case described above.
